Largest princely castle in Fujairah
Fujairah Castle is one of the most important and largest princely castles, is built on top of high in the Fujairah zone old and rises to about 20m above sea level. Where oversees the sea, all the city, and about 2 km from the sea coast. Castle design differs from the usual geometric designs in the rest of the castles of the State, which consists of three circular towers and a fourth tower square, building a long section that resembles the tower and the buildings connected by a wall between configured Central Hall in the middle.
This design was irregular as of many peculiarities of irregular shape of the Castle rocks. The castle was built from local materials included (stone, gravel, mud and straw and Al sarooj (plaster)). Analytical chemical study was conducted by carbon 14 radioactive, which proved that the castle was built between 1500-1550 and rebuilt in the period 1650-1700. The first restoration was in 1925, and then in the mid-1960s to the collapse of the North Tower and square. In 1998-2000, the Department of Antiquities and heritage restoration in the Castle and its towers, and used in the restoration the same material that built the Castle.
